1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, improve performance, and provide information to site operators. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them).
2. How Maiekr Uses Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies, focused on essential functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Secure-slidd.session-token | Authenticates your session after login. Contains a signed JWT token. | 30 days | Essential |
| __Secure-slidd.callback-url | Stores the URL to redirect to after authentication. | Session | Essential |
| __Secure-slidd.csrf-token | Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks. | Session | Essential |
| maiekr-cookie-consent | Records your cookie consent preference so we do not ask again. | 365 days | Essential |
3.2 Functional cookies
We do not currently use functional cookies (such as language preference or theme selection). If we introduce them in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
3.3 Analytics cookies
We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we introduce privacy-respecting analytics in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
3.4 Advertising cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Maiekr does not serve ads or participate in advertising networks.
4. Third-Party Cookies
When you use OAuth sign-in (Google or GitHub), the authentication provider may set its own cookies during the sign-in flow. These are governed by the respective provider's cookie policies:
- Google: Managed by Google's Privacy Policy
- GitHub: Managed by GitHub's Privacy Statement
These cookies are only set if you choose to sign in with these providers. Maiekr does not control or have access to third-party cookies.
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Since we only use strictly necessary cookies, there is no option to opt out of them without losing access to the Service. However, you can manage cookies through your browser:
- Block cookies: Configure your browser to block cookies from maiekr.co.uk. Note that this will prevent you from logging in.
- Delete cookies: Clear cookies from your browser settings. You will be logged out and need to sign in again.
- Private browsing: Use your browser's private/incognito mode. Session cookies will be deleted when you close the window.
6. Changes to This Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if we change the cookies we use or introduce new categories. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
